Dita Gill, BA, LLM, Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales

Dita is a Senior Lecturer in Law and Course Director of the Postgraduate Diploma in International Oil, Gas and Energy Law. She is a qualified solicitor who came to academic life from commercial practice, having previously worked in Banking Law in the City of London. Dita’s expertise in practice was in project finance and security, commercial property and construction law.

Dita’s postgraduate studies were in Public International Law. She gained an LLM from the London School of Economics, studying International Law of Natural Resources, International Environmental Law, and International Institutions.

Dita has extensive experience as a senior lecturer teaching relevant modules including in particular Public International Law. She has been responsible for designing and leading both academic and professional law courses. Dita’s lecturing experience includes many years at the University of London School of Oriental and African Studies and Birkbeck College, renowned as a university for part-time students.

Dita is an active researcher in international law and has presented research papers at many international conferences, as well as papers on legal education. Dita is a member of the Society for Legal Scholars, the International Law Association, and the International Bar Association.

Barrie Goldstone, LL.B., LL.M., M.Ed., Barrister

Barrie is Principal Lecturer in Law and Head of the Law School at London Metropolitan University. He has over 25 years of experience teaching commercial law at graduate and postgraduate level.

Barrie was course leader for many years of London Met’s highly successful Graduate Diploma Course for non-law graduates wishing to pursue a career in law.

Barrie completed a Postgraduate Diploma in UK and International Oil, Gas and Mineral Law at Dundee University, a top University in this field, followed by an LLM in International Energy Law, with a thesis on “The Delimitation of the Continental Shelf and EEZ between Adjacent and Opposite States”. Barrie subsequently completed a Master’s degree in Education and is presently undertaking research towards a Doctorate in Education with a thesis on working class constructs of legal education.

Barrie has been an external examiner on International Law for many years. Barrie is the Mooting Master at London Met, training law students in advocacy for national mooting competitions. Teams trained by Barrie have enjoyed significant success, and have won glowing praise from mooting judges including Lord Walker and Lord Reid of the Supreme Court.
